With advanced image editors, applying a simple stencil effect can take longer than expected. Defining the effect is not difficult, but you will spend more time looking for the necessary options. If you lack the patience to look through countless menus for a simple stencil effect, you can use Whitenoir to instantly transform any picture into a two color monochrome image. The application is particularly useful for creating stencil images or sharp bitmaps for pencil drawings.

The application is free and you don't have to install it. You just need to extract an executable, which is only 130 KB. There are no special requirements to meet, so you can run the application right away.

As previously mentioned, pictures can be converted to monochrome instantly. All you have to do is load an image and click a button. The result can be saved in the source folder, with a different name, and it takes only one click. Alternatively, you may copy the converted image to the clipboard.

A slider can be found beneath the preview area and you can use it to adjust the brightness threshold for dark and light pixels. Additionally, you can select different colors for these pictures. In other words, you are not limited to converting pictures to black and white. You can use any two colors you wish.

Pros

Whitenoir's functionality is straightforward. You can turn your images into stencils or bitmaps instantly. The result can be saved or copied to the clipboard just as fast. The application is free and you don't need to install it.

Cons

The results may not be satisfactory if you are working with JPG images. Thanks to Whitenoir's simple and straightforward design, it does not take more than a few clicks to convert any picture to a two color monochrome image.
